SafeNet

In 2013, existing services formalised their network to develop SAFENET to improve the response and care for victims and survivors of violence against women and girls. SAFENET includes the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (Integrated Mental Health Services, the Social Welfare Division, and Health Facilities), the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, the Public Solicitors Office, Family Support Centre and the Christian Care Centre. SAFENET is a referral system for victims and survivors of violence against women and girls.

This policy is a sub-policy of the GEWD policy and monitoring and evaluation will be overseen by the Advisory Reporting and Coordinating Committee (ARCC) on Gender Equality and Women’s Development which is the governing body for the GEWD Policy.
