Solomon Islands has presented its Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) Combined 2nd & 3rd Periodic Report to the United Nation CRC Committee on 23rd January 2018.

Reporting and interactive dialogue was done through video-conferencing through the UNICEF Regional Office in Suva, Fiji.

The Solomon Islands Delegation was represented by Government officials and Solomon Islands High Commissioner in Fiji, Mr. Patteson Oti.  Officials engaged were from line ministries mainly the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (MEHRD), Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs (MJLA), Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration (MCILI) and Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs (MWYCFA). Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs led the team.

The Dialogue was a successful one, as the state was overwhelmingly acknowledged of its report and the progress made in implementing CRC by the committee.

The next Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) report will be due for reporting in 2023.
